Cooking is a very essential part of
healthy living, because the meals you prepare yourself from whole
foods, are the only meals you know a 100% of the ingredients.
But to me cooking is much more than just a
necessity. The kitchen is the place I can be most creative.
There is such a variety of foods I love
to combine anyway I like to. In the kitchen I am free in my choices,
I can experiment and I can control the outcome (most of the times
anyway ;) ).
At the beginning of my journey, I
started buying cook books, searching recipes online or collecting
recipes I found in magazines and simply followed them.
What bugged me about these recipes
though, was that they were mostly very time consuming and needed a
lot of special ingredients.
So at some point, after I had gained
some cooking experience, I started creating my own recipes, with
little ingredients and usually a short preparation time, so I would
be able to have fresh, healthy meals, without needing to add another
24 hours to my day.
I got better with every creation and by
now my head works automatically on new combinations and creations.
I believe that healthy living shouldn't
be a privilege for people with tons of time. It should be possible
for everyone. From students to managers to working mums, because I
believe that everybody deserves to feel fabulous and healthy.
I am not going to lie, it does need
some dedication, but once you've found your way into this lifestyle
it is dead easy and you will enjoy it.
